As Christmas custom in the Czech Republic, children in village are chased after with masked devils.
Chased in the snow by scary figures in masks, the village youngsters in the Czech village of Valasska Polanka saw it as good fun.
“The tradition is beautiful, we enjoy it, we run away from those devils, they chase us, it is awesome,” said Vaclav Kozubik a teenager from the village.
This occasion celebrates Saint Nicholas, who appears in costume and rewards the well-behaved with gifts.
Some of the citizens in the village criticize the Krampus novelty originating from the Christmas period across central Europe.
